The ART of the TOAST

Gather with us for 3 hours….learning this lifelong skill

"A toast should be more like a haiku than an epic poem. After all, some people might be holding their glasses in the air—you don't want to leave them hanging." — Paul Dickson

The Art of the Toast

An evening to learn a life skill you'll carry forever

Part of A Decade of Voices — celebrating ten years of WomanSpeak

Have you ever felt the moment call for a few words... and wished you knew how to rise and say them?

A wedding. A birthday. A farewell dinner. That instant where gratitude fills the room and someone simply needs to stand, lift a glass, and speak from the heart. 🥂

The truth is, a beautiful toast is one of the most quietly powerful things a woman can offer. It's a gift to the people you love, a way of marking what matters, and it has others see you, without effort, as a warm and capable communicator. And it's far more learnable than you might think.

This evening, I'll show you how.

Together we'll explore the simple, timeless shape of a toast that lands.
How to gather and settle a room, how to tell a story that brings a quality you love in someone to life, and how to close with a blessing that lifts everyone present. You'll practise in a warm, encouraging circle, and leave with a skill that settles into your body, ready for whenever life calls on you, for a celebration, a milestone, or one day, perhaps, a eulogy for someone dear.

This isn't just for special occasions. It's for every moment worth honouring.

We'll finish with tea and sweet treats to share (time to linger and connect).
